John Paul II after his predecessor John Paul I. The name Paul, according to some great theologians and saints, means reception of God's graces, moved by God, and in general conversion. Such meanings were manifested all throughout the life of Pope John Paul II. He was deeply moved by God, received graces from Him, and converted a lot of people to believe in the Almighty God.
His reign as a pope was triggered with a countless crises and controversies. Some controversies include alleged gay men in the clergy, his strong objection to ordaining women to become priestess, and his counter attacks on issues like AIDS, homosexuality, and abortion among others. But, the great pope stood by his faith until he surrendered his soul to His Creator due to
failing health.
